Welcome Prophet-eers!

Thanks for visiting The Rhythm Prophets home page. From here you can navigate throughout the site. You can check on upcoming shows, learn about (and contact!) individual band members, view our photo gallery, listen to audio samples of the band's original songs, and find some interesting links to visit. Don't forget to visit our"e-shop" where you can purchase Prophet gear and other paraphernalia. We've just reduced all of our prices, so stock up for the holidays!

Some History...

The Rhythm Prophets current lineup formed in July of 2008 and first performed in October of the same year at Socorro, New Mexico's annual festival Socorrofest. Crowd response to the 45 minute performance convinced us to form on a permanent basis. Our March 20th, 2009 debut at the Capitol Bar in Socorro's central plaza established the band as a musical force in central New Mexico and beyond.

Latest News...

Our guitar raffle was an unqualified success! Ken Lines won the guitar. We sold $520.00 worth of raffle tickets, with the entire amount being donated to El Puente del Socorro (the local domestic violence shelter - picture of the presentation coming soon!).

We will be playing at the Capitol Bar in Socorro on November 28th from 9:00 - 1:00 in support of the 4th annual Toys for Tots Bike Run. Come on out and bring a new, unwrapped toy and make an underpriveleged child's Christmas a little brighter.

Our new CD (The Rhythm Prophets) has been selling well locally. You can download individual songs for $.99, or download the whole album for $9.99 at CD Baby. We have a link on our audio files page directly to CD Baby and our album. Support independent music!

Lastly, on a sad note, David "Badass" Wooten will be leaving for Alaska next month which means we lose our lead guitarist. It has been an honor playing with such a great musician during the past 1 1/2 years. We'll have a hard time finding a replacement half as talented as him. Still, we wish him all the best in his new adventure. You've always got a place in the Rhythm Prophets if things don't work out.
